Thanks to the Echelford Amateur Radio Society for inviting me to be their May 2007 speaker and making me feel so welcome, despite the long drive and awful weather. Please CLICK the thumbnail images below for the fullsize versions

Here I am, all the equipment set up and operational and ready to talk about. The talk was done from the same slides as my Rochdale talk.
A close-up of my main radio station equipment: Polyphase receiver, CW transmitter, ATU/dummy load/power meter, power supply
Close-up of my 1-valve (ECL82) CW transmitter.
Here I am, rambling about the 2-valve regenerative short wave receiver I built when I was 17 years old.
Now I explain the very dubious multiplexing system which led to such severe overheating in my panel-mounting clock that the 7-segment LED's actually melted.
A favourite of the crowd was my TinyScope project, pictured here with my forthcoming GPS-locked frequency standard in the background (LCD display) and an issue of SPRAT, journal of the GQRP club.
Close-up of the TinyScope, which features a 1-inch diameter CRT and ALL-VALVE construction (not one single semiconductor in sight).
I was very pleased to meet EARS president Geoff Voller G3JUL, who was for many years curator of the London Science Museum's demonstration amateur radio station, callsign GB2SM. Sadly the station closed in 1995.
